18017d6545 feat: support alternate accessToken header name (#1968)
## Description

This commit allows a tool to pull an alternate authorization
token from the header of the http request.

This is initially being built for the Looker integration. Looker
uses its own OAuth token. When deploying MCP Toolbox to Cloud
Run, the default token in the "Authorization" header is for
authentication with Cloud Run. An alternate token can be put into
another header by a client such as ADK or any other client that
can programatically set http headers. This token will be used
to authenticate with Looker.

If needed, other sources can use this by setting the header name
in the source config, passing it into the tool config, and returning
the header name in the Tool GetAuthTokenHeaderName() function.

5abad5d56c feat(tools/postgres): add long_running_transactions, list_locks and replication_stats tools (#1751)
Adds the following tools for Postgre
(1) long_running_transactions - reports transactions that exceed a
configured duration threshold.
(2) list_locks - lists active locks in the database, including the
associated process, lock type, relation, mode, and the query holding or
waiting on the lock.
(3) replication_stats - reports replication-related metrics for WAL
streaming replicas, including lag sizes presented in human-readable
form.

2bff1384a3 fix(tools): check for query execution error for pgxpool.Pool (#1969)
## Description

Return error if there's error during query execution. AlloyDB AI NL tool
was failing query silently. When this happened, the user was just
receiving `nil` response and not informed of what the error was.

42c8dd7ddd chore: embed Config into Tool (#1875)
To keep a persistent backend storage for configuration, we will have to
keep a single source of truth. This involves supporting bi-directional
conversion between Config and Tool.

This PR make the following changes:
* Embed Config in Tool
* Add `ToConfig()` to extract Config from Tool.

4aabb4aaca chore: move parameters to internal/util (#1907)
To facilitate the transition of moving invocation implementation to
Source, we will have to move parameter to `internal/util`. This approach
is crucial because certain parameters may not be fully resolvable
pre-implementation. Since both `internal/sources` and `internal/tools`
will need access to `parameters`, it will be more relevant to move
parameters implementation to utils.

c5962bd96f chore: introduce orderedmap to preserve column order in SQL results during marshal (#1852)
This commit introduces a new `orderedmap` package to preserve the column
order of SQL query results when they are marshaled to JSON.

The default Go `json.Marshal` function sorts map keys, which was causing
the column order to be lost in the output of the database tools.

This commit updates the following tools to use the new `orderedmap`
package:
- `mysqlexecutesql`
- `mssqlexecutesql`
- `postgresexecutesql`
- `spannerexecutesql`
- `sqliteexecutesql`
- `bigqueryexecutesql`

A new test has been added to the `mysqlexecutesql` tool to verify that
the column order is preserved.

0b3dac4132 feat: add metadata in MCP Manifest for Toolbox auth (#1395)
Add `_meta` for `tools/list` method in MCP Toolbox.

If there are authorized invocation, the following will be return in
`_meta`:
```
{
    "name":"my-tool-name",
    "description":"my tool description",
     "inputSchema":{
        "type":"object",
         "properties":{
             "user_id":{"type":"string","description":"user's name from google login"}
         },
         "required":["user_id"]
     },
     "_meta":{
         "toolbox/authParam":{"user_id":["my_auth"]}
     }
}
```

If there are authenticated parameter, the following will be return in
`_meta`:
```
{
    "name":"my-tool-name",
    "description":"my tool description",
    "inputSchema":{
        "type":"object",
        "properties":{
            "sql":{"type":"string","description":"The sql to execute."}
        },
        "required":["sql"]
    },
    "_meta":{
        "toolbox/authInvoke":["my_auth"]
    }
}
```

If there are no authorized invocation or authenticated prameter, the
`_meta` field will be omitted.

With this feature, the following were updated in the source code:
* In each `func(p CommonParameter) McpManifest()`, we will return a
`[]string` for the list of authenticated parameters. This is similar to
how Manifest() return the list of authNames in non-MCP Toolbox's
manifest.
* The `func(ps Parameters) McpManifest()` will return a
`map[string][]string` that with key as param's name, and value as the
param's auth.
* Added a new function `GetMcpManifest()` in `tools.go`. This function
will consctruct the McpManifest, and add the `Metadata` field.
* Associated tests were added or updated.

0d7d8ab516 feat (tools/postgres-list-available-extensions, tools/postgres-list-installed-extensions): add tool types postgres-list-available-extensions and postgres-list-installed-extensions (#1401)
## Description

This PR adds two read-only, PostgreSQL tool kinds to MCPToolbox that
standardize discovery of extensions:

- `postgres-list-installed-extensions` – lists extensions installed in
the current database with: `name`, `version`, `schema`, `owner`
`description`.

- `postgres-list-available-extensions` – lists extensions available to
install on the cluster with: `name`, `default_version`, `description`.

Both are safe by default, and return well-typed JSON suitable for UIs,
agents, and automation.

**Test Output**

b2b06c72c2 feat(tools/postgres-list-active-queries): add new postgres-list-active-queries tool (#1400)
## Description

Adds a PostgreSQL tool kind `postgres-list-active-queries` that returns
the top N currently running queries (`state='active'`) from
`pg_stat_activity`, ordered by longest running first. Each row includes:
`pid`, `user`, `database`, `application_name`, `client_addr`, `state`,
`wait_event_type`, `wait_event`, `backend_start`, `xact_start`,
`query_start`, computed `duration`, and `query` (SQL text).

Parameters supported

- `min_duration` (optional) — only include queries running at least this
long (e.g., "1 minute", "2 seconds").

- `exclude_application_names`(optional) — comma-separated list of
application_name values to exclude (e.g., "psql,pgAdmin 4,my-batch").

- `limit` (optional) — max rows to return (default 50).

53afed5b76 chore(tools): invoke return type any instead of []any (#904)
Update `tool.Invoke()` to return type `any` instead of `[]any`.

Toolbox return a map with the `results` key, and the SDK reads the
string from the key. So this won't break existing SDK implementation.

f630965937 feat!: consolidate "x-postgres-generic" tools to "postgres-sql" tool (#43)
This PR introduces the following breaking change: The
`alloydb-pg-generic`, `cloud-sql-pg-generic`, and
`postgres-generic-tool` have been replaced by the `postgres-sql` tool,
which works with all 3 Postgres sources.

If you were using of the the previous tools, you will need to update it
as follows:
```diff
example_tool:
-    kind: cloud-sql-pg-generic
+    kind: postgres-sql
     source: my-cloud-sql-pg-instance
     description: some description
        statement: |
            SELECT * FROM SQL_STATEMENT;
        parameters:
        - name: country
          type: string
          description: some description
```

I'm proposing this change for the following reasons:
1. It provides greater flexibility between postgres-compatible sources
-- you can change between "postgres" and "alloydb-postgres" without
issue
2. The name "postgres-sql" is more clear that "postgres-generic" -- it
indicates it's a tool that runs SQL on the source
3. It's easier for us to maintain feature compatibility across a single
"postgres-sql" tool

efe9e8bc97 chore: refactor sources/tools each into their own package (#42)
Moves all of the "source" and "tool" implementations into their own
packages. This layout makes it a bit more clear where the
implementations are, and seems likely to scale more cleanly as more
sources and tools are added.
