This puts Meteor back on the official release track of Node.js 4, rather than using its own custom build (from https://github.com/meteor/node/), which had previously been necessary to add the garbage collection fixes gained with751f1ac08eand71f9cdf241, both of which are now officially included in Node.js 4.x as of 4.8.6. 🎉
Meteor is an ultra-simple environment for building modern web applications.
With Meteor you write apps:
- in modern JavaScript
- that send data over the wire, rather than HTML
- using your choice of popular open-source libraries

Quick Start
On Windows, the installer can be found at https://www.meteor.com/install.
On Linux/macOS, use this line:
curl https://install.meteor.com/ | sh
Create a project:
meteor create try-meteor
Run it:
cd try-meteor
meteor

Uninstalling Meteor
Aside from a short launcher shell script, Meteor installs itself inside your home directory. To uninstall Meteor, run:
rm -rf ~/.meteor/
sudo rm /usr/local/bin/meteor
On Windows, just run the uninstaller from your Control Panel.
